As the added value and process complexity of pharmaceutical intermediates in China continue to increase, they have become a critical link in the pharmaceutical industry chain.

  Zhao Honghan, vice secretary-general of the China Unsaturated Polyester Resin Industry Association, believes that with China's high-speed rail reaching speeds of 350 kilometers per hour, lightweight materials have become an important component in promoting the rapid operation of high-speed trains. "Glass fiber reinforced plastics (GFRP), one of the three major lightweight materials, has become the main material for interior structural components. Currently, modular series products, passenger car seat series products, washroom and toilet series products, driver's cab and driver's room interior series products, sound insulation series products, and export series products have been formed."
  Zhao Honghan pointed out that to meet the high-quality performance requirements of high-speed trains and light rail transit for supporting components, China's GFRP technology and products have been improved in terms of raw material selection, structural design, and process forming. It is understood that there are more than 40 domestic GFRP enterprises supporting the high-speed railway and light rail transit industry, forming a complete industrial chain for GFRP used in rail transit. Kangping, Romeway, Autome, Shuangyi, Jinchuang, Sihai, CRCC Long Railway, Jialin, Zhu Pete, and Times New Materials have become relatively large-scale GFRP supporting enterprises in the industry.
  Zhao Honghan revealed that information obtained from relevant sources shows that the level of lightweighting in shipbuilding is vastly different between China and other countries. "For example, using lifeboats with the same engine, boats of the same type were built in China and Norway. The Chinese-built lifeboat only reached 6 knots, while the Norwegian-built one reached 11 knots." Using this example as a comparison, promoting lightweighting in China's rail transit still has a long way to go, and domestic GFRP enterprises have a great opportunity to make significant contributions during the period of rapid development of rail transit.
