The report said that the proposal was unanimously approved by the National Capital Planning Commission on Thursday, thus granting the US Secret Service permission to install it. The steel spikes are 18 centimeters long, with 1-centimeter-long sharp points at the top, protruding outward several inches at an acute angle. These spikes will form a double layer of protection on the existing pointed iron fence.
